- My childhood smelled like a play-doh modeling compound, coz’ I was a scatter-brained artist . It was December 26th - my parents placed the play-doh kitchen set under the Christmas tree.
- I was 5 years old when my father bought me my first karaoke set. I was singing (completely out of tune) and dancing without restraint.
- I spent my whole childhood with my twin cousins.
- I dreamt about being a doctor and marrying John Carter (ER TV series).
- I used to cut off my Barbie dolls hair instead of styling them.

Five things you didn't know about me

Growing up with ‘Harry Potter’
‘It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our
enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends.’
‘Don't let the muggles get you down.’
I still remember the day when I got my first 'Harry Potter'
book - I found it under the Christmas tree. At the beginning I wasn’t really convinced
about the idea of reading books at all! You know, 10 year-old kid in the era of
video games and computers…
A few days later I decided to read at least one chapter,
guess what? It was AMAZING!
J.K. Rowling was able to create a whole new magical world:
names, towns, shops, creatures, spells…Everything was based on Rowling's imagination.
The premiere of each 'Harry Potter' book was like a
celebration to me! 'Harry Potter' fans lining up at bookstore, booksellers dressing
up like wizards and witches… Potter
mania reached a fever pitch!
But what I appreciate the most about ‘Harry Potter' books
and movies is the fact that I was growing up with ‘Harry Potter’ characters! They
are inseparable part of my childhood. Look how they've changed!
Harry
Potter might be considered as a simple fairytale, but for me it was just a beginning
- the beginning of my irreversible obsession with fantasy books.
Although I appreciate Tolkien, Rice and Charlaine as well as
Rowling – there’s something about ‘Harry Potter’ books that makes me pay
attention to every little detail of this story. Guess it will stay that way forever.

Foreign languages
‘Those who know nothing of foreign languages
know nothing of their own.’
- Johann
Wolfgang von Goethe
‘The
limits of my language are the limits of my world.’
- Ludwig Wittgenstein
'To have another language is to possess a second soul.'
- Charlemagne
- Charlemagne
The process
of learning a foreign language is boring, tiresome and ‘painful’. Don’t try to deny it. Thousands of words and phrases to learn by
heart, and millions of grammar structures to understand. It takes time and effort. So why should we
learn a second language?
- To challenge yourself and develop your personality
- To expand your horizons
- To travel and communicate abroad
- To discover new culture
- To encourage tolerance and respect for different ethnic groups
- To increase your work opportunity
- To appreciate international art, literature and movies
You are
never too young or too old to pick up a new language. Although It requires tremendous amount of self-discipline and consistency, knowing
other languages brings opportunities.

So that's what we use our leisure time for! Walking around for several hours wasn't in vain. Guess, that's the end of ACTA in our country.
